Porter's Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

Bless that no danger will come and bless that no monsters will come. But if they do that Daddy will kill them.

Bless that I can stay up late; cuz Daddy always lets me.

AMEN

Free Mcdonalds for a year...oh ya!

There is a new Mcdonalds that is being built right by our house.  In front of the Mcdonals was a sign reading, "The first 100 people at 6 AM get free Mcdonalds for a year."  (OK, a little misleading, because it is one meal a week for a year.)  But anyway...FREE, right?

So Elisa sent me a text.  She wanted to know if I was in.  Really?  Were we really going to do it?  She then reminded me that we stood in line for the Price is Right at 2 in the morning, so why couldn't we do this?  She was totally right...we could and we would.

So the plan was to wake up around 3 AM Friday morning.  We thought that would be plenty of time for the 6AM line.  Well, trailers and tents were already lining up and it was only 5 PM Thursday.  Elisa and I decided we needed to "scope" things out and see where we could put our tent, etc. for the night.  It was 6:45 PM and we get to McDonalds.  The line had ALREADY formed.  What the crap?  It isn't even midnight.  So we put our names down on a paper list (which is the "line") and sign a wavier.  We are now committed to stay in the McDonalds parking lot until 6 AM the following morning.

Well, I had baby max with us.  We had no food, drink, sleeping attire, or entertainment to help us through the night.  We made a plan to RUSH home, grab the essentials and bolt back to the parking lot before the do a random check in.

We were able to get all the basic needs and make it back by 7:30 PM.  We made it.  The first check in would be at 8:00PM.

Baby Max "just lovin' it" in the Mcdonalds parking lot.  He was a trooper.  He fell asleep around 10 PM and Barry came and got him at midnight.  I guess he was a little too warm.

Barry said, "he was a melted taco when he got home."  oops.

The rules were to stay in the parking lot; check in when they randomly called your name; and stay until 6 am the following morning.

Well, luck would have it Grandma had taken Porter for a sleep over, so I didn't have him.  Lucky Max got to hang out with us until Barry got back from the Jazz game at MIDNIGHT.  BUT we got to stay in the car the whole time.  It was great!

Jessica came around 8:15 and she was 116 on the list.  We were bummed because how were we to know if people would drop out.  Well at 10:00 PM they did a random drawing for anyone after 100.  They drew out 20 names to me in the running of free Mcdonalds and good old Jessica made it!  YEA!

First check in was chicken nuggets.  They were really warm.  It was great because it was freezing.  Snowing throughout the day and night.  Next check in we got apple pies.  The morning check in was egg mcmuffin, hash brown, and diet coke. AND last but not least was the last check in for our grand prize.  A free punch card for Mcdonals meal once a week for a year.

Jessica, Heather, Elisa, and baby Elliot (brought down by Troy for a night feeding).  Funny huh!

Morning breakfast and almost time to go home.  It was freezing cold.  It had snowed a lot that night.

Jessica enjoying the hash brown and drink.
Elisa sportin' the egg mcmuffin.

The drive through.  This is where we would check in and get our food!  It was so funny.
What was I thinking.  I had my flip flops and luckily I grabbed some socks before I left.  Now who doesn't sport their flip flops and socks like this?

It was great.  Three moms in a minivan, laughing all night.  Here is to Mcdonalds for making a fun night.

Mom's B-day balloons

FUNNY STORY

Valentines day we were in St. George. So instead of putting B-day balloons on the grave we decided to send them up to Heaven for Mom’s b-day.

So Mandy, Brad and I got the kids outside and we were ready for take off. “Happy Birthday to mom…” as the balloons head to heaven.

Porter’s Balloon was a success…Kamaile’s and Gracie’s balloon….well that is were the story gets good

The balloons were tied together and created a lovely little hook that wrapped itself around the power lines right outside Mandy’s house. POOP!

The kids, (especially Kamaile) kept saying a prayer out loud that the balloon would make it to Grandma Janette.

Us adults were like, please just get off those dang power lines so they won’t be there forever. Prayers were said all day long, but the balloons lingered.

The following day the balloons were gone. We were COMPLETELY shocked. How the crap did they get untangled and off the power line? Prayers were answered. For most of the day were just in awe that they really did make it to Heaven.

NOW THE KILLER FUNNY PART WHERE MANDY AND I COULDN’T STOP LAUGHING.

Mandy found this video randomly on her friends facebook page. Ya just had to be there.

Porter's 4th Birthday

Porter is four years old now.
He had a great three days of celebration.

Day one..
He got to invite only 4 friends, (I am a mean mom) to his friend party. He wanted all his friends to come...maybe next time.

He wanted a GREEN cake all to himself.  I don't think he ate any of it.

Day two (his real birthday) he opened his presents from his fam in the morning and grandma & grandpa in the evening.

Day three he got a yummy birthday cake made by Grandma Roberts and TONS of fun toys from grandparents, aunts, and uncles!

PORTER YOU ARE LOVED! You are such a great kid!  You bring just love to everyone you are around.  You are a great big brother.
Some fun things you do are:
- You ride your bike and scooter all the time.  You think you can do "wheelies" by lifting up your front wheel off the ground 2 inches.  You also go off curbs and stairs at the skate park.
-This year you played indoor soccer.  The last game you scored 2 goals.
-You love to lift up your 3 month old brother that weighs 15 pounds.  You like to be a big help and carry him around.
- You are VERY giving and kind.  This is the best thing I love about you.  You would do anything for anyone.
- Just this last month you have switch from wearing your pajamas night and DAY to wearing clothes.  BUT you now sleep in the clothes you want to wear the following day.  This way you don't have to get dressed in the morning.  You are very creative this way!

We love you Porter and we are so happy you are in our family!
