Porter and his OCD

I have to write these down before I forget...I don't know how I will ever forget. I don't see an end in sight...but just in case. :)

Porter does NOT sleep with a pillow case on his pillow. Every time I put the pillow case on his pillow he takes it right off.  I have officially stopped trying.

He folds his blankets up to the size of a  8x10 folder.  It has to be perfect with no edges sticking out. It had to be his green blanket, but we have lost it.  Surprisingly this has not been a huge issue, because Max has a SUPER soft blanket that he is "willing" to sacrifice for.

Levis are against his religion.  Heaven forbid he ever wears a pair again.

Pants are an issue.  Last year he would wear "squishy pants."  This year we are struggling to find a pair of pants that don't "BUG" him.

He wears basketball shorts daily, because the other kind of shorts bug him.  He rotates between two different BYU shirts and occasionally he wears another shirt.

Winter time he still wears flip flops, shorts, and t-shirts.  He says this year he will wear snow pants (Is he going to wear these every day)?

Church is a HUGE issue.  His church pants "bug" him.  Lines everywhere (places you wouldn't even think) "bug" him.  We battle putting them on and as soon as church is over the shorts go right on.

SOCKS....every time he gets a pair of socks out (this is usually just on Sundays) they have to have NO LINES, and NO HOLES.  This is what he says, "no lines, no holes."  It is really hard to find socks without the sewn line at the top.  BUT we have deceived our little tiger and found some socks that have "NO LINES"  OH and it can't have words on them either...so hanes, stop advertising your socks ON YOUR SOCKS.

Shoe laces...Heaven forbid any part of a shoe lace touches his skin.  Well if that happens you might as well just close up for the night.  This is traumatic and must be dealt with immediately. Shoe laces are tied in a big old double knot and then shoved under the shoe laces; so not one ounce of the shoe lace will bounce around and touch him.

BIG breakthrough though is he doesn't wear PJs every second of the day.  He now just sleeps in the clothes he has on and calls them his pajamas.

WHERE does this come from?

  1. I remember when I was little I wore a skirt or dress the entire year to Kindergarten because I hated, hated wearing pants. I had big time sensory issues as a kid regarding this. Pants = Not comfy.

Thankfully I'm past that but I still don't wear jeans. Pretty much ever. Not comfy :)

There are a number of store online that offer tagless, soft, seamless clothes for children- but yikes expensive!
