Porter's thoughts

Porter said to me, " Mom, you are a lazy mom."
"Really?"
"Ya mom, do you want to know why you are lazy?"
"Yes."
"Because you don't ever buy me fruit roll-ups or fruit snacks. Do you want to be a cool mom?"
"Nope."

Now it is time to tell him what lazy means.

Porter came inside for a second and asked me, "Mom, if you don't want to say stuff, does that mean you are lying?"
"No, You are just taking the 5th." (me trying to be funny).
"Ok, I will tell them."

hmmm, I wonder what he was lying about?????

Porter does not like Christmas

Porter said, "Mom, I don't like Christmas."

"What, you don't? Why?"

"Well Mom, I like it a little because we get presents, but I really don't like it because it is so cold. I don't like it at all. I don't like it because we don't get to go to the reservoir. We don't get to wear flip flops. I just wish it was summer." He said it with such passion.

  I have a feeling this kid is not going to live in Salt Lake his whole life.

Porter is 5 years old!

Happy Birthday Porter!  We love you so much!
I can't belive that you are 5 already!  Porter you are so fun to have in our family!  You brighten our day!  


I thought you were so big when you were 3 years old and we took off your training wheels to your bike.  Now you peddle as fast as you can and love to skid with your back tire making tire marks all the way down the sidewalk.  You love riding your bike, you love your skateboard.  


You love to swim.  This year I feel really confident about your swimming abilities.  You stick your head under the water and swim away.




Shorts and t-shirt boy this year.  You cried one day and said, "mom, I just wished it was summer."  You were so upset, because you wear t-shirts and shorts every day.  It has been freezing cold and still you refuse to wear a jacket or pants.  You are very stubborn this way.  It is funny because I think the year before you would only wear pjs everywhere we went. So funny, your clothing attire.

Most of all you are a great brother.  You love Max (most days) and he loves you!  I love watching you two play together.  Max adores you and wants to be with you every minute (unless you are bugging him).

At church and at home, you love to sing.  Your teacher at church says that you are the best singer.  You learn the songs fast and you sing really loud.

Porter we love you and love your smiles. Thanks for being such a great kid!

Porter started his birthday with opening his presents.  He got a new pair of shoes.  We got him some with no laces.  This way he didn't have to stress about his shoe laces touching his skin.  A blessing for us all!

Then cinnamon rolls for breakfast!

Planet play for the rest of the day.  He was so excited to go here.  He just loved it!

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe

Porter has Barry's old He-Man stuff. Porter loves playing with it. This is where I found it the other day.  It brings back memories of watching that show.  So funny. Barry found some episodes on Netflix to show Porter.  He loves it.

Porter's first cavity

This was his first time to the dentist.  He had one cavity that needed to be filled.  When he left they gave him a pack of gum and chose a toy out of the toy chest.  He said that he loves the dentist and wants to go back.  He also wants to have more cavities.  ( I am thinking he likes that toy chest a little too much.)

They had sunglasses for him to wear.  The light was so bright and he wanted to watch the t.v. that was on the ceiling.

Porter and Batman

Porter wanted this Batman car.  We made him earn it.  He worked hard and it took him a month, but he finally got it.  He was so excited.
